The Plan 2012-2016
On
the heels of such success and momentum, from the full implementation of
Operation: Safe Community (2006-2011), the leadership team has built a plan
for the next five years that is arguably better than the first,
Operation: Safe Community 2012-2016. The new plan calls for maintaining laser-like
focus on data-driven policing / MPD’s Blue C.R.U.S.H., widely acknowledged as
the major contributor to the crime reductions to date. It also incorporates a special new focus
on youth violence prevention and intervention, with strategies developed through a unique partnership with the U.S. Department of Justice.
