Crime Update:

City of Memphis Crime Update: January 2010 to July 2010

From January 2010 to the end of July 2010, overall crime was down 28.7% including a drop in violent crime by 28.6% and a drop in property crime by 28.7% across the City of Memphis, when compared to the same time period in 2006.

Shelby County Crime Update: January 2010 to July 2010


From January 2010 to the end of July 2010, overall crime was down 20.2% including a drop in violent crime by 19.5% and a drop in property crime by 20.3% in areas patrolled by Shelby County Sheriff's Office, when compared to the same time period in 2006.

OSC Strategy Highlights



Strategy 11 of Operation: Safe Community and in partnership with Shelby County Government, The 3R Project is an intensive voluntary program that provides inmates with support for housing, mental and physical health services, family reunification, life skills and employment readiness training.

Wednesday, August 25th marks the 3rd Annual Offender Workforce Development Roundtable presented by The 3R Project, Shelby County Division of Corrections and Operation: Safe Community. The Roundtable will feature experts from Workforce Investment Network (WIN), Tennessee Department of Corrections, and Department of Labor among many others.

At the Roundtable employers can find out about ex-offenders as an untapped labor source, benefits and incentives for your business, developing a workforce that includes every citizen and the necessity of community collaborations.
